Tyler Mitchell will be the first black photographer to shoot a cover for US Vogue. In an industry where black photographers are vastly underrepresented this is a huge step. It’s also a little reminder to those established in the fashion industry to use your influence - yes, this field is highly competitive but we can’t expect things to change if we don’t have new perspectives, especially from people of color. We’ve seen the content produced from Elaine Welteroth, Edward Enninful, Michelle Lee, and Radhika Jones and it is genuine and necessary. Read more here:
